The Congress had virtually all the PANS Excos in attendance. It was held at the part one pharmacy class on the 13th of July,2016.
The congress started at about
5;20pm with an opening prayer by the course rep of 200L Sir John C.O ,lolz. Following that,the PANS Senate president called on the two candidates vying for the vacant post of the Vice President. They were Omotayo Bolaji and Ogunkunle Ololade, both from 400Level.
The two candidates proceeded with their manifesto. Numerous questions were thrown to them by the audience on what they intend to do when dey get to office. They both answered really well.
At around 6;25pm, the voting commenced,It was an open ballot where all voters were to stand,though in the absence of the candidates.The excos and senators were exempted from voting.
At the end of the voting process,the result was announced. Omotayo Bolaji emerged the Vice president of the Association with 58 Votes against 38votes polled by Ogunkunle Ololade. She was well congratulated and the congress continued.
The next phase of the congress was about the PANS sports week. The Sports Secretary in person of Francis Jide came to make a briefing about the sports week. He discussed several events to be featured in the sports week which are soccer,basketball,volleyball,indoor games,track events ,table tennis. He also mentioned that a trophy was to be provided by the faculty to the winners of the soccer competition. Also many prizes will be awarded to winners of all events including the "Ballon d'or" award to be awarded to the best soccer performer at the PANS dinner.He also entertained some questions to round-up his speech.
The congress continued with a briefing of the Upcoming PANS health week by The honourable President of PANS himself in person of Mr.Oluwatobi Rotimi. He said that the PANS health week will be from September 4th to 9th. He mentioned a few of some of the activities pansites should expect in the health week. Some of which he mentioned were the Career fair which will include the visitation to a pharm. industry, A Symposium,A traditional day, A variety night,Dinner and award night and he isnt certain about the Denim day
He also talked a little about the PANS Dinner coming up this semester.
Someone from the audience asked about the financial status of PANS,in response to this,the Financial secretary in person of Oloko Azeez gave a statement of the account stating the amount presently in PANS Bank account.
The congress continued with the AOB where different questions were asked.
The Congress concluded with a closing prayer.
